London-based writer-producer Elshay has been honing his craft from an early age, having spent time in the studio with mega producer Darkchild (Michael Jackson, Destiny’s Child) along with influential UK producers Steel Banglez and Da beat freakz. Elshay’s music is a blend of smooth R&B vocals with hints of Hip-Hop and Soul – his songs have been described as love songs with an edge. It’s this versatility that has led to his success in writing for #1 acts in the UK and artists across Europe, as well as collaborating with writers & producers from the US and Canada – and it was inevitable that Elshay would eventually release his own solo material. Thanks to the reception of his latest feature on ‘Honest’ with DJ/Producer WNDR (Sony), Elshay has been performing at festivals in Norway – and now he’s ready to take on the music world for himself.
His debut EP embodies everything that is sure to make him one to watch this year. Its mix of future R&B shades and infectiously catchy pop hits have led to him being likened to none other than Canadian artists Drake and Party Next Door, whilst still including big hints to the soul music that Elshay cites as his greatest inspiration in pursuing music – naming Stevie Wonder and Lauren Hill as two of his biggest influences.
